LOVE Island fans have packed the internet with a load of hilarious memes after Laura Anderson told Wes Nelson she was looking for a husband.
The Twittersphere could not contain itself after 29-year-old Laura told 20-year-old that she was looking for a husband, and he gamely replied that that was fine.
In the episode Laura decided she wanted to know where Wes thought their future was going, what with them being coupled up for almost a week.
She said: “I know that it doesn’t seem like there’s a big age gap, but there is. I don’t feel it, it’s just I would feel bad on you. Obviously I don’t want to waste my time and I wouldn’t want to waste your time. I don’t know, I’m just over thinking and worrying a little bit.”
Eager to reassure her, Wes insisted the age difference doesn't matter, saying: “Honestly my outlook on it is I genuinely came on to find someone that’s beautiful that I can get to know, that I can properly understand on a deep level and settle down with.
"And actually go on a journey with as opposed to just having a bit of fun with. I want something that’s going to last. As corny as it sounds I want something that’s forever.”
She added: “Obviously it chills me out a bit because I am looking to find a husband.”
And it turns out Wes was looking for a wife, at age 20, on ITV2.
He said: “Yeah, definitely. That’s what I’m talking about. I’m here to find a girlfriend. I feel like we’re on the same page. You’re a girl that I’d love to take home and meet my mum. Meet my family. You’d fit in really well.”
Keen to stress his commitment towards Laura in the Beach Hut, Wes reflects: “So when Laura mentioned the word ‘husband’, I didn’t bat an eyelid.
"I didn’t think that that affected me in any way, shape and form.
"I know there’s a lot of guys in here, even the older guys that would have flinched or showed a bit of a reaction to her saying husband and got a bit scared of that big old commitment that it is, but I didn’t bat an eyelid.”
Laura also said: “He surprises me all the time, how mature he is and how intelligent he is. I feel like we’re on the same wavelength of how we treat people which is really important.”
