SARAH Jessica Parker has broken her silence to insist "there was no fight" with Kim Cattrall after the actress branded her "cruel" and "toxic".
SJP, 52, insisted she had been refusing to respond to her Sex and the City co-star's "really hurtful" comments about her.
Rumours of a falling out between the pair have been rife for a long time, with Kim, 61, speaking out against her in an interview with Piers Morgan last year - claiming she torpedoed plans for SATC 3.
The reported feud boiled over this week as Kim blasted her former co-star on Instagram, accusing her of "exploiting" her brother's death to boost her "nice girl" persona.
Sarah Jessica has now spoken out about her relationship with Kim in an interview with America's People magazine which has been published four days after the post.
Speaking about the movie that never was, she said: “It’s really funny because I never talked about it, except [to say] that some of us were disappointed.
“But I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan, where she said things that were really hurtful about me.
“So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded. And I won't, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege.”
Appearing on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Kim said of Sarah Jessica: "I really think she could have been nicer. I don't know what her issue is."
Sarah Jessica had appeared to reach out last week by commenting underneath Kim's announcement of Chris’s death: “Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx”
However, posting a message to her Instagram, Kim wrote: “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker”
Leaving a lengthy caption, she continued to blast the actress.
She wrote: “My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’
“Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.
“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family.
“You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
