3.05 HAYDOCK: Rose Of Lancaster Stakes
OLDER horses have a tough time in the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes so that spells bad news for nine-year-old Gabrial.
Although this is not a handicap, official ratings still matter and you want to concentrate on horses rated north of 105.
So Communique, Brorocco and Teodoro have a bit to find if they are to carry off this prize.
We have cut the field down to three before we look at how many runs each contender have had.
Most Rose Of Lancaster winners are seeing the track for at least the fourth time this season, which is a negative for Elwazir.
That leaves us with a shootout between Zaaki and Fajjaj.
There’s a lot to be said for the latter who was a solid third at Newbury last time and has placed second at Group 2 level in Germany.
But Sir Michael Stoute knows what it takes to win this and his ZAAKI has strong claims.
He was an excellent third in the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot before being beaten on the nod by Communique in a hot handicap at Newmarket last time.

He’s only had a couple of runs since moving from Mohamed Moubarak and there’s every chance his great trainer can conjure a lot more improvement.
