NEYMAR is willing to stay at Paris Saint-Germain until 2019 but is desperate to join Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazilian forward, who is preparing for the World Cup in Russia, has not even spent 12 months in the French capital.
But while his future at PSG looks increasingly uncertain, the world's most expensive player will show diplomacy by staying until next year, according to newspaper AS.
The former Barcelona forward is believed to be keen on a return to La Liga as he reportedly considers Ligue 1 to be of low quality.
A source close to Madrid says Neymar's contract includes a release clause of £263m but cannot be activated until September 1, the day after the transfer window closes.
That would mean the 26-year-old superstar would be unable to represent another club until 2019.
But Real do not plan on waiting.
Neymar is also concerned that pushing for a move away from PSG would damage his image.
He has already added three trophies to his cabinet after winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue in his first season.
He was the joint third top scorer in France with 19 goals, and top of the assist charts with 13 for the season.
