THIS is the moment tourists were left soaked after an unforgettable close encounter with a humpback whale.
The mammal leaped from the water just inches from whale-watchers in Port Macqurie, Australia.
Video shows the mammal spectacularly emerge from the surface of the water on Friday.
The whale twists with its fins and tail before producing an almighty splash which drenched awestruck onlookers.
The boat can be seen rocking and onlookers howling in shock at the display and their freshly-soaked clothes.
Water is then seen shooting out of the whale's blowhole in one final gesture to the admiring crowd.
The whales are currently migrating from the Antarctic to the warmer waters of Australia.
Several have been spotted along the east coast of Australia in recent weeks.
The footage has been shared more than 160,000 times since being shared by Port Jet Cruise Adventures on Facebook.
