CHILDREN of the 90s, prepare yourself for some very exciting news.
Toy manufacturer Mattel has just dropped a major hint about the future of Polly Pockets on their Instagram page... and fans are freaking out.
The brains behind our favourite childhood toys took to social media yesterday to post a picture of the original Polly Pocket sets.
Quick to ask the question on everybody's lips, one Instagram user chimed up with "Are y'all releasing new ones??"
And to our total delight, Mattel responded: "Big dreams come in small packages, be on the lookout this July!"
Cue internet chaos as the comments were flooded with users sharing their childhood memories of the pocket-sized sets.
Mums were quick to share their excitement at the prospect of seeing their own children playing with their old favourite toys.
One wrote: "I remember having so many of these and avidly playing with them everywhere! And to know my daughter may be the next generation to experience the joys I had playing with this line is full circle! Super excited!"
Another added that she "Still has the mint coloured one in the middle" and that she is "so excited to get these for my daughter!!!"
Since Polly Pocket first took the world by storm in the 1990s, Mattel has rebranded the iconic play toys to look slightly more life-like and little less -pocket-sized.
Just like Barbie before her, the 21st Century Polly Pocket also has her own cartoon and animation series following her many adventures.
Although the storylines definitely can't compete with the imaginary games we used to play in our childhood bedrooms, am I right?
Your old Polly Pocket toys could be worth THOUSANDS... so do YOU have one of the rare dolls?
