A DEVOUT Christian vlogger who waited until marriage to have sex has shared tips for becoming a “born again virgin”.
Milena Ciciotti, 21, from Michigan, posted a video to her YouTube account offering advice for people wishing to abstain from sex until they tie the knot.
Milena said that it is not only possible to be a “born again virgin” but the decision is “worth it” and can be undertaken at any age.
She said in the YouTube video: “It is never too late to become a born again virgin.
“It doesn’t matter if you had sex once or 100 times and then you suddenly realise this is not what I want for myself, this is not what God wants for me and I want to make a change.
“There is nothing wrong with that. You are no more or no less of a Christian for previously having sex.
“If you decide to have a change of mind then your sins are forgiven and you can move past that.”
Milena met her husband Jordan when they were 15-year-old teens and they remained virgins until they tied the knot five years later in June 2017.
The beauty vlogger said her first video about her being a virgin until she was married got the most traffic out of all her videos.
She said that she got a huge amount of messages from followers asking for advice of three main topics – being a "born again virgin", how to avoid temptation and dealing with negativity from others.
For followers who asked her if it is ok to date someone who hasn’t wait for marriage, she gave some advice.
Milena said: “That is totally fine. We all make mistakes.
“It will not be easy and you two will have to work at it a little bit harder because that person has already had sex and already knows the feeling, so it is a little bit harder to put the boundary up.
“As long as that person is willing to wait for you specifically than I think that alone should tell you that ok, he or she has already forgiven themselves, I should forgive them too, God has already forgiven them.”
She recommended for those keen to become “pure” that you sit down with your partner and establish boundaries early on.
Some of these, she advised, could include not lying on a sofa or bed with a boyfriend or girlfriend and steering clear of oral sex.
Milena said: “I personally think you should stop at kissing. Don’t start touching and don’t start licking. Don’t do that because once you do it is so easy to keep going and then boom.”
She recommends never being alone with your partner in a house if you can help it, to avoid temptation.
She said: “Sometimes we would put a Bible on the coffee table so we could have a visual. God is always watching but it can be hard to forget that.”
Milena offered up advice for dealing with sceptical friends and family.
She said no one should ever have to explain the reasoning behind their choices, and that just because something is popular doesn’t make it right.
She said: “You’ll always feel like you alone and no one else is doing it. But from that other video I made there were a lot of people that commented on it saying they were waiting too and I was blown away.”
In her previous email she revealed she had made the decision to abstain from sex at the age of 12 or 13, when she went to a church concert and they handed out purity rings.
As part of her pledge to wait for her husband, her and Jordan wouldn’t go swimming together or wearing swimming costumes in each other’s company.
And five couples who waited for their wedding night to have sex for the first time describe what it was like… and it wasn’t great.
